BMW will be launching at least five FWD vehicles between 2013 and 2018, and as many as seven new or redesigned Mini branded vehicles, also with FWD with in the same frame of time.
The company is rumored to launch a car in 2016 code-named FAST, which will be comparable to the Mercedes B-Class, but not likely to hit American shores. What will hit American shores however, is the 2014 front-wheel drive 1 Series GT , the BMW Z2, second-generation X1, and a subcompact that is currently dubbed ‘Joy’.
With the introduction of ‘Joy’, which will be based on the third-generation Mini, and will be available with either three or five doors, BMW will introduce a new size of car – smaller than the 1 Series.
Mini will have the next-generation Clubman, Cooper, Cooper convertible, Mini Mini, and the Mini Activity Tourer (Mini Van) in its stable of fromt-wheel drive cars over the next five years, and possibly bring the addition of the Coupe, Roadster, Countryman, and Paceman.
